Camp Tamarack aims to provide an inclusive and barrier free outdoor camping experience through accessible, fun-filled and innovative programs within a safe and positive environment that nurtures personal and social development.
We strive to provide people of all ages and abilities a peer-supported outdoor experience in a safe and welcoming environment, to enhance the quality of life and create positive opportunities while discovering one’s potential.
Summer Camp Success
We are very happy with the progress we have made in the second year of our relaunch after the pandemic. Our Camp Director Lynnell (Fivah) pulled togethor an incredible team of people from our local area as well as all over the world; Mexico, Lithuania, Uganda, and Italy just to name a few. Our amazing staff and leadership team members have done an amazing job this year and we have seen incredible growth.
- The Adult Camp, for indviduals with disabilities, had more participants than ever before and was a big success.
- Almost 400 campers participated in our summer camp programs
- The introduction of new programs, such as our Adventure 8-8 program was extremely popular, as it provided an opportunity for campers not comfortable staying overnight, to attend camp and be part of all the activities during the day and early evening.
AND SO MUCH MORE!
Now we must move on to our next challenge.
Our goal is to pay off debt due to the COVID pandemic (CEBA) and raise money to fund development of winter programming for youth in the region.
Like many organizations, the debt we took on over the COVID pandemic is coming due. The Candian Emergency Business Account (CEBA) loan requires $40,000 to be paid back this year, or the organiztion will have to pay back the $60,000 received with interest.
