Q: Do I need to pack a lunch?
A: Yes, please pack 2 snacks and a lunch that is nut aware. (no nuts as the main ingredient) note: they will not have access to a microwave.
Q: What if the strike ends while my child is registered in camp?
A: Our Jr. Scientists camps run on a weekly basis. If schools return in the middle of a camp week, we will refund families for the unused days.
Q: Is this camp replacing school?
A: No. Camp Tamarack supports teachers and values classroom learning. Our program is not a substitute for school—it’s a day camp with curriculum connections designed to keep kids learning and engaged during this time.
Q: Will my child still be learning?
A: Yes! Each week focuses on a theme connected to Alberta curriculum—like Circle of Life, Sustainability, Water, Air & Fire, and Camouflage. Campers learn through discovery, experiments, and outdoor play while also enjoying camp favorites like climbing, archery, art in nature, and wilderness skills.
Q: What if the strike lasts longer than expected?
A: Camps will continue to run week by week for as long as families need support. We’ll keep you updated through email and social media.
Q: What if I need care beyond the scheduled camp hours?
A: We offer early drop-off (7:15 am) and late pick-up (until 5 pm) every day to help accommodate family schedules. If you only need it on certain days you can choose those days.
