Wild-Ventures

Explore · Build · Survive

Age: 8–12 (Grades 2–6) Dates: July 19–24 Rate: $560

Wild-Ventures is an immersive outdoor adventure designed for campers who are ready to learn practical wilderness skills while building confidence, teamwork, and independence in the outdoors.

Each day blends classic camp fun with hands-on survival learning. Campers will explore the forest on hikes, learn how to build shelters, practice fire-starting using flint and steel, and develop foundational outdoor living skills. Wilderness skills sessions take place in the afternoons, allowing campers to gradually build comfort and competence throughout the week.

A highlight of the week is an onsite tent camp-out on Thursday night, giving campers the chance to put their new skills into action in a safe, supported environment.

In addition to wilderness skills, campers will enjoy:

Camp-wide games

Archery

Orienteering

Climbing Tower

Giant Swing

An offsite swimming trip for cooling off and fun

Additional Items needed for this program
Campers will need:

A foam sleeping mat (we do have a few mats we can lend out)

A packable sleeping bag

A bag to pack and carry their sleeping gear

Wild-Ventures is ideal for campers who love being outdoors, enjoy learning by doing, and are excited to try something new while still experiencing all the fun and connection of Camp Tamarack.

What Is 8:8?

Please note: We recommend 8:8 campers attend Adventure Camp with the wilderness option as we spend most of Thursday preparing for the Camp out.

8:8 gives campers the full daytime experience of overnight camp while allowing them to sleep in their own bed at night.

On the first day of camp, families will drop campers off on Sunday afternoon and pick them up after campfire between 8:30 and 9:00 pm.

Campers return the next morning by 8:00 am, in time for breakfast and the first activity of the day.

This routine continues throughout the week.

Friday pick up is between 11:45 am and 12:15 pm

Adventure 8:8 is ideal for campers who want the excitement of full-day camp programming with the comfort of going home each night.
