Teen Leadership Retreat
The goal of our Teen Leadership Programs is to develop confident and competent community and camp leaders. The skills that will be developed over the weekend will open doors for students seeking part time work and increase potential opportunities for future employment with Camp Tamarack.
Each participant will also be invited to join us for a week at camp as a volunteer Jr. Teen leader, where they will take on the role of a camp leader for the duration of the week. All participants should be prepared to actively participate in these programs. Their level of participation directly relates to the amount of knowledge and skills they will develop.
Participants will be covering topics including effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, what it means to be a leader, goal setting, team work and more, in the context of camp, the workplace, and life. We will develop these skills by partaking in role playing, games and activities, discussions, reflection, debriefing and small projects.
While this year will still focus on the same skills we are changing up the program so their is more time spent learning through games and activities and significantly less time sitting in the classroom.
The teens will work together or creating the Teddy Bear Picnic event for our Primary Campers.
For those that have participated in our program before this is a great opportunity to use your skills and share your experiences with the group. You can even lead a session on a topic you are interested in
Volunteer week: Primary Day/Overnight Camp August 6th -9th, 2024
