Summer Positions

During the months of June, July & August, Camp Tamarack requires 12-18 summer employees on our staff to fulfill the needs of the summer camp. These positions include:

1   Program Coordinator

1   Program Coordinators’ Assistant

1   Office Manager

1   Medical Attendant

2-3   Special Needs Counsellors

4-5   Camp Counsellors

2-3   Junior Counsellors

1   Head Cook

1   Cook’s Assistant

1   Caretaker’s Assistant

In your cover letter, be sure to include any special interests or hobbies that might be an asset to the summer camp program(i.e.: crafts, sports, wall climbing, horseback riding, musical talent, etc). Interviews will be held at Camp Tamarack, by phone or Skype, or the nearest convenient locations.

Successful applicants are required to submit a Criminal Record Check which can be easily obtained at myBackCheck.com. The process is simple:

1. Complete the online form at myBackCheck.com
2. Print your consent form and take it along with appropriate ID to any of the 5,000 participating Canada Post retail outlets across the country.
3. A Canada Post retail clerk will scan the form and IDs and submit them securely to myBackCheck.com. Results of the check will be made available within one business day.

Who do We Hire?

Our summer Staff, who are usually students or graduates, come from all areas of the country and many different studies. They are hired on the basis of their responsibility and their desire to work with children.

Training

Staff will participate in a 5 day training program at the beginning of the season which will cover all the aspects of our summer programs and special needs.
